Girls 9th-12th Grades 3v3 - NEW Format this Year

  • Teams will shoot for ball at the start of each game; home team takes the first shot attempt, first make starts with the ball, no fair-ups. (no jump ball to start the game)
  • Each match will be to 21 points or 12 minutes long with a 30 second shot clock. The team must win by only one point.  Best of 3 matches is declared the game winner.  5-minute warm-up, 2-minute break between matches.
  • Teams score by either regular two-point baskets, or by three-point shots taken from outside the three-point line.
  • After a basket has been scored or a foul called, a player must put the ball in play past the three-point line and above the foul line.  Ball does not need to be “checked” by the defensive player.
  • All held balls will be put into play behind the three-point line and above the foul line with possession given alternately to each team.
  • On defensive rebounds or steals, players must return the ball by dribble or pass across the three-point line (but not required to be above the foul line) before a basket may be attempted. Once across the line, they do not have to pass the ball before shooting.
  • Fouls will be called by the referee.  A foul called in the act of shooting will result in either one (if basket is made), two or three free throws awarded to the team, which was fouled, depending on where the player was fouled. All free-throws will have players lined up in the lane lines and play live on the release.  No limit on number of fouls per player.  After the 5th team foul, the offended team will be awarded two free-throw attempts.
  • The three-second rule will apply to all offensive players.
  • Substitutions may be made after a basket or on a dead ball.  Player entering the game will stand at the scorers’ table to be waived into the game by a referee.
  • Each team is only allowed one 60-second timeout per match.
  • Clock will only be stopped on free-throws and timeouts.
  • If the game ends in a tie after regulation time there will be a one-minute overtime period.  Possession will be determined as noted in #1.
  • Ties at the end of any overtime period will result in successive one-minute periods until the tie has been broken, with possession alternating each overtime period
